"Between Land and Water"

Two rattlesnakes face each other across a pale blue band, tongues out — an olive-and-tan one coiled at the left, a violet one at the right. Dahlias in pink and red crowd the lower edge, and pale blue stars hang in the sky between them. According to the artist, the snakes stand for shedding and renewal rather than fear.
